Exploring the Stories of the Islands and the Freedoms of Third Age

Wow! It’s over three months since I posted. I never imagined being out of touch for so long, but internet, it appears, is an elusive thing here. Of course I should have known, I’ve been working in the business for over two years already! I find myself the awed owner of a USB modem (for the life of me I cannot use the word in public you Brits use!). When it works, as it is doing now, it really is awesome, but alas in my humble, (not-so) new (now) abode it stumbles along at somewhere less a half a MB! Still, it took me a while to realize that here I have Wednesday evenings, when I bring the guys to basketball, when I can log on at something like a normal speed……providing my computer battery is charged up – it just about lasts the time allotted! So even if this turns out to be a weekly installment for the moment, I am baaaack!

My move was drawn out but successful. The new apartment, apart from the lack of internet (no landline connection, and a poor mobile one) is just what I needed. Near the beach…..3 mins, easy to clean, and I am surrounded by other dog lovers, so Trix is at home too!

I need to chase up other long-neglected sites and pals, so I shall only update some photos and leave this here today, but it will be good to be in touch again!

Oh, the picture was taken during Joyce’s visit at the beginning of November. That’s me hugging a statue…….well, did you see those thighs??? In the newly renovated Plaza de España in Santa Cruz.
