Footslogging in early afternoon August heat, looking for somewhere to live  is not to be recommended! Arona was like a ghost town – and no wonder everyone was indoors trying to keep cool. Although few private homes have air con, the old houses here are built to protect from the heat (thick walls and few windows, especially facing the sun – the opposite of the modern, tourist-aimed constructions!). More pix on Flickr, of course.

Anyhoo……maybe it was a bit too quiet around there?
